Paterno R. Esmaquel II

Paterno R. Esmaquel II is a Filipino journalist best known for his reportage at the news website Rappler, where he worked for 14 years. He currently writes for international Catholic outlets such as Crux Now, The Tablet, and UCAN, and runs a YouTube channel called The Religion Reporter.

Equipped with two decades of professional experience, he also teaches journalism at the Jesuit-run Ateneo de Manila University and the Dominican-run University of Santo Tomas.

Paterno holds two master's degrees: MA Journalism from Ateneo de Manila University and MSc Asian Studies from the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
